LO2 - Treatment
I will be creating a file storage website. the purpose of this website is to allow people to store files in the form of dossiers. The name of the website is 'Dossier Draw'. The subject of this website is to allow people to make dossiers based on any topic that they want. the input required to make this website would mean a large quantity of coding and design time as well as a vaiety of software. To make this website I will need to use coding software such as visual studios. to make this website there is no specific location that is required.
After conversing with a group of my friends I have come to
realise that their work in a veterinary course was getting out of hand because
they couldn’t all look after the dossier of animals under their care. When I
asked about this one of them asked about my computing project and asked me to
help them and create a communal dossier storage product for them to stay on
track with their written work as well as with the practical side of veterinary.
I decided to aid them in this as they wanted it to have the potential to be
used for character dossiers that could be used for video games as well which
would allow them to prepare for any issues that come up with video games or
with any mistake that could be made when dealing with any of the animals under
their care. This problem is solvable by computational methods as the project
requires a search or sorting algorithm to order and find the dossiers
efficiently, the project could also use a data storage solution to store the
dossiers which is a non-negotiable requirement for this project.
After speaking with my stakeholders, they have identified
the core part of the problem which is to make and store dossiers of both
animals and characters in a safe way. This is an issue that must be overcome as
it will be a place where data on animals and veterinary studies which are not
meant to be seen by other people as it could contain case studies or any
veterinary trials for a course assessment. This problem is amenable to
computational methods as it will require the storage of data in the form of
dossiers, it will use sorting and searching algorithms for the user to access
the dossiers with increased ease. This amenable to computational methods
because it would require data storage solutions to store the dossiers, it would
also use a sorting algorithm to organise the dossiers in alphabetical order. However my Stakeholders later decided not to have this as a confidential site for private documents so they asked me to not have a sign up and log in system as they wanted the project to be usable by everyone.
